Destroying a Wonderful Sport

Only a few cities in India has the racing culture. Street racing is an uncommon sport in India. Only a few cities have such young enthusiasts. in the city of Trivandrum street racing was a popular sport. Youngsters used to race each Saturday's through the wide stretches of the city roads with super bikes. It was fast gaining popularity until the DYFI activists came with agitation against this sport. Their answer for the agitation was " The sport is destroying the future of the productive youth".These guy's was supported by the Govt. and within a week speed cam's were put to catch racing drivers.
It is so unfair that they did such a thing. They should first look at themselves before trying to make others good. The members of DYFI, SFI etc in the colleges are widely engaged in riots and strikes. One good example is Ohm Prakash , a boy who secured 80% plus in +2 and one of the brightest students in the university at his time in now in prison alleged guilty for his presence in a planned murder.he was made to have such a situation by SFI. Are these parties destroying the youth??????????
All of us should look into this terrible Gunda Raj developing in the city aided by the political parties. In the real sense the political parties youth federations are destroying the youth of India.
The sport of street racing should be encouraged like in America and Japan. It actually helps in exposing the name of the city in the global arena. We have a cricket club, a foot ball club, a hockey club , a flying club etc in the city then why not a racing club???????? And like others it cam be controlled either by Govt. or city Corporation or by both Govt. and Private people. A racing track could be build which could move racing from busy streets to more safer tracks. Also it could be the gate way for the Trivandrum Grand pix in the future.
Think about it .......... At least once. Please........

  1. Yes, the racing scene in t'puram was killed in the bud itself.
The left political parties seem to have a penchant for opposing anything that they don't have or are jealous of.
I mean who can you expect on the streets of our city after midnight. If they are so caring for the youth why not start a racing club like abhijith suggested.
Whatever is done street racing is to stay as long as cars and money is available to speed enthusiasts.Something more proactive like allowing racing to happen on specific roads in specific times,or a race track, but the latter would be expensive.
Street racing in rush hours endangering public and traffic safety should not be allowed at any case, but at midnight, street racing in deserted roads is as legitimate as playing cricket on the road or celebrating new year at lovalam.
